OK, being the nice person I am, I've updated the devkit. Includes:
  • All the new graphics that have been made
  • All the levels in the game
  • A very basic hubworld for testing
NOTES:
  • This is not the final hubworld, obviously.
  • You can take raocow/Kood/Sheath out of their respective levels. This will be fixed in the official hubworld.
  • Timed Jumps on Moving Everything, Exciting Sky Cave, Edge of The Universe, Life Lift, The Firelands, and Murder Death Place Zone have their star labels wrong.

So I tried playing, selected mario start aaaand.... get stuck in a level with four different exits that repeats in and endless loop. Did I do something wrong?

Yeah. Making the update, I redownloaded the dev kit, and made the updates from that, however, I forgot to copy over the hubworld after I made it.

Thank you for doing that SAJewers, I'll sure be testing the levels over the next... some period of time.

On a random side note, I would be more than happy to do video playtesting shenanigans but I really don't think I'd be able to set aside time, what with school and keeping up with my regular uploads, which honestly still aren't consistent really. Sorry. Written reviews will just have to do for now I suppose!

For some reason I keep getting an 'invalid image' error whenever I try to boot the main game up. Editor works though.

EDIT: Nope, whenever I actually try to play a level with the editor I get the 'invalid image' error. Reupload it with the fix I guess

I'm not sure to fix this. I'm not seeing this issue at all.

Yeah, if I recall Google Drive usually requires a sign-in.

Also that's one big file. Or at least it's large considering there's only level stuff in there. ASMBXT is gonna be a bigger game than I thought.

EDIT: Oh, huh. Yeah I tried it too and it seemed to work. Maybe it's browser-specific...?

It's not just level stuff. It's the entire development kit, engine, graphics, levels, and all. Level stuff is just 422 MB

8Flight: ATM, download the, download the full kit and extract it somewhere, then download the update and place it in the same folder (if you use c:\asmbxt for the dev kit, extract the update to c:\asmbxt)

EDIT: Just a note, if anyone has any level fixes, submit them, and when I wake up tomorrow, I'll release another update to add those fixes.

The dev kit crashes for me when I enter World 6. Anyone else getting this?

There's also some star labeling problems.

In World 2, SAJewers' "Reverse Zone" is listed as having 3 stars instead of 1.
In World 7, there are apparently 5 stars in Frozelar's "Exciting Sky Cave" when the Wiki says there should only be 3, and 650 stars (lol) in Docopoper's "Life Lift" instead of 1.
In World 8, Docopoper's "Timed Jumps On Moving Everything" is listed as having 5 stars instead of 3.
In the Postgame, raocow's "Murder Place Death Zone" apparently has 0 stars. So too does Mr. Weird Guy's "The Firelands". Perhaps Ignoritus' "Edge of the Universe" has been stealing them, as it claims to have 30 stars.
In the Gimmick World, Wilhelm & Darkychao's "Four of a Kind" is feeling lonely with an apparent 0 stars and a missing Darkychao credit.

OK, by the looks of it, SMBX counts all stars in the level that are not in a bubble, in an egg, or buried for labeling, regardless of wether you can get it or not. I've fixed reverse zone. It looks like Life lift has 1 star for every block in height, rather than 1 star that follows the player up. The other levels are probably the same as reverse zone: extra stars from WIPS that were never removed.

EDIT: I took a look at all those levels, here's why they're labeled wrong:
  • Reverse Zone: 2 extra stars I had from WIPS
  • Timed Jumps moving on everything: He has the level copied over in sections 2 and 3, and I think the leeks there are being counted,
  • Exciting Sky Cave: I think its because he has section 1 copied over to section 5, with the leek, and that's being counted.
  • Edge of The Universe: Apparently friendly Star NPCs being used are being counted
  • Life Lift: He has 650 stars i think
  • The Firelands: wrong end npc
  • murder death place zone: apparently stars that are buried don't count
  • four of a kind: apparently stars in bubbles do't count

Suggestion for the next version. You're often left with sheath or some other character after a stage. How about a demo block in each hub area? I know there's one in the main hub but... it takes 3-4 seconds to get to with the really slow smbx doors!

Oh, alright I'll fix that star problem. I won't resubmit it until like this weekend or something so that if any more problems are found before then, I can just fix everything and submit it once. Unless it's necessary that I submit it sooner.

The only way to do that would be with Demo/Iris Blocks, and and that would be a bit too much effort just for this.

I got rid of the 2 stars in section 5, and that fixed it. I'll just include this fix in the dev kit, to save you the trouble.

No, actually the one star in section five towards the bottom should be kept in. Y'know, the one right above the death pit. Just the one above that star in the section should be taken out. I mean, the one towards the top.

I could just resubmit it if you'd like. Unless what I just said made sense to you, in which case you could do it if you'd be so kind.

That makes sense, but then there would be 4 stars, not the 3 that the wiki says.

EDIT: Ah, that friendly star in section 2 is being counted as a star by the auto-label thingy, despite the fact you can't get it. I'll just wait so you can fix that.
