i started working on everything.3

test url (that might not be up all the time)

i can add youtube channels now and they get automatically updated with new videos so i guess the youtube part is done

now I just need to add.. like.. the rest of the application. and since i've never used everything.raocow.com i'm not sure what that is yet!

but i'm planning on having it community-maintainable this time so my next priority is to add user accounts & something for them to maintain (e.g. categories)

current objectives

• Finish search (basic queries & category search already available)
• Add info to video/category pages
• Ordering of categories
• Keep youtube account up to date with playlists automatically (http://www.youtube.com/everythingraocow)

ive added support for categorising videos

any logged in user can do it

i'm going to look into the front end now

ok i have something simple up and running

next step is updating the design & adding some more channel/video data to the pages

& also i'm planning on writing some automated tests since i have no idea if it works as intended

currently supports:

automatically updating channels

unregistered users:

viewing videos by:

latest, channel, category (just a plain category or series or game or whatever), recent, random

registered users:

add/edit categories
categorise videos (either by adding videos to a category or categories to a video)

admins:

destroy categories
manage channels (add/remove/edit)

feel free to mess with it or try and break it whatever you like to do

i was thinking of having everything.3 automatically make youtube playlists since it makes more sense than implementing playlists myself

yeah i figured it makes more sense than supporting them myself

it'd basically automatically make and keep up to date playlists from categories on the site

it actually has a really powerful search engine behind it but im not sure how to integrate it into the app yet

Now that everything is showing up as the main thing on raocow.com's main page again, would it be possible to keep the videos on the main page for like 24 hours or something, or at the very least have more than one video at once, as I got a 'two videos' a day thing going on, with the potential for more if there is a suplement or something

next i'm going to add some more info to the category/video pages & then i might put a production version up so i can (hopefully not on my own) start categorising videos (it shouldnt take long since you can mass select them)

Glad this is getting some love again :) I'm like 8 months behind on raocow so I'll definitely be using it!

• Calendar view
• Crazy stats page
• Something to display artwork from rao's old videos ( i.e. http://everything.raocow.com/episode.php?id=751 )
• Maybe copy over the video descriptions from rao's old videos ( they came from something awful and are different from the youtube descriptions )
• Links to the discussion thread(s) for a particular LP
• Color scheme that matches raocow.com
• Support video hosts other that youtube for old videos (if someone's mirror goes down, have the ability to watch original video on dailymotion)
