You should crawl raolists to generate the series lists for all the pre-existing videos.

it's an easy feature in theory but there just isn't a single youtube api wrapper for ruby that does everything we want (short of using the youtube api directly) (this is what brought development to a halt after getting a p much working version up after like 2 days)

• Finish search (basic queries & category search already available)
• Add info to video/category pages
• Ordering of categories

so yeah, once these are done + some admin/backend stuff i'll look into importing the videos from old everything and then maybe put a production vers up to see how it works out

is this more useful than just paginating by day? it seems pretty useful but a bit clumsy so i'll look into an alternative too

So...did this project die? I only just found this thread after checking the old Everything raocow thread in the Suggestion Box for the first time in a while to see if there was any news.

The http://everything.raocow.com:3000/ links don't work.

nobody seemed to care and also there's a youtube channel that does it (raolists) but looking at it now it doesn't seem to be as up to date as i thought

the current build at http://everything.raocow.com:3000/ is still up but i think the server it's on was down at some point so maybe that's why

i'll probably finish it eventually (and i'd be more inclined to if people were interested) but i have other projects right now

That one still looks a bit out of date (A2MT and Copy Kitty Turbo are listed as "in progress" and are incomplete), but it's definitely more up-to-date than the existing one.

u can update it yourself if u want - it's pretty easy

all the videos are on there they automatically get added

the categories just need to be edited to add the videos

I was bored so I started categorizing the most recent videos, since it's ordered that way I found it easier to work with. (Although it may be misleading to anyone else who looks there and thinks "oh I guess the earlier stuff is done", no it isn't.)

Then I discovered that the list, organized by "latest video", skips from Valdis Story 18 to Something Else 19 and only has one episode of Super Demo Sisters.

So there might be stuff missing? That or the list is out of order.

Okay, added categories for Valdis Story, Superb Demo Sisters, and A2XT. I included the promotional videos in the latter two. However, all are missing quite a few videos; A2XT in particular seems to be about 20 short, and SDS only has the promotional videos and one actual-play video. Haven't looked at anything else yet, but it should be clear from the numbering which videos are missing now.

This is actually really simple to update now that I actually understand how updating a category works. I was doing it manually before, but now I see I can update by category and just filter for the game name, since raocow always puts that in the video titles. There might be an occasional outlier if he references a title in another LP, but that shouldn't be too hard to deal with.

yeah those outliers can be found by just looking for videos with no categories so i'll add that

and i'll reimport all videos so it'll fill out the one it's missing but right now i'm switching out a lot of the youtube code since it's changed since i was originally looking at this
