PS3 Controller with zSNES

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, if it's not then please move it to the correct spot.

I'm Having a lot of trouble getting my PS3 controller to work with my computer let alone zSNES.
I know it can be done.
Is there something special I have to do?

PS3 controller doesn't work at all for me. Even all the things that google told me to do and to install didn't change anything. Well I will continue using the xbox360 controller, yes I know, it's a horrible controller for platformers but, well, I have no other options! ^^

I got mine to work, but it requires me to run the .bat file after I plug in my remote, then again at the configuring place on my PC. All complicated, but worth it :S

I managed to find a very old 100% working PS1 controller somewhere hidden in my living room.

Works like a charm on my computer!

It can ginve you a nostalgic feeling and if you don't use savestates or rewind anyway (or place those buttons on the keyboard) you don't need more buttons.
But it's a matter of preferences. I have to use more buttons since I can't live without savestates most of the time.

Thanks. I just figured out I want to use the same gameplay as the original one, on the console, so that's the one I'm gonna get, since that's the one I'm the most comfy with.

but how do you set up the controller to work with zsnes i tried it yesterday but it went ass ways on me i would appriciate the help

If you can't actually get it to work, try rigging it with JoyToKey or something. JtK tends to be a little looser than doing it directly but it'll still work, at least in theory.

I wouldn't actually know any of this, I just use my 360 controller and it works fine.

Just a quick note, there are separate drivers/steps for 64 bit operating systems.

My PS3 controller always turns on my ps3 while I'm using it for Spelunky and zSnes...

There are programs that automatically calibrate the controller with your computer,I have one and it works perfectly.
